Job Description: An opportunity to immerse oneself with the knowledge and understanding of retail property management. This includes assisting property management teams in performing day-to-day responsibilities for the on-going operation and management of retail properties. In addition, the property management internship will provide learning opportunities with exposure to Property Managers, Accountants, and Leasing Staff in order to obtain expanded knowledge of all facets of property management. This position will be based in our Oakbrook Terrace, IL office. Responsibilities: Work on special projects including but not limited to: -          Team up with property managers on on-going property related projects. -          Lease abstracting and understanding lease basics; -          Assist property managers on receivable balances; -          Collecting and analyzing tenant sales information -          Assist property managers on one-time projects or any repair/maintenance projects; -          Ensuring data and lease compliance among tenants -          Perform property inspections with Property Managers; -          Audit and organize property files; -          Assist with file migration to the automated AP System Observation & Learning with Property Managers could include: -          Accompany Property Managers to on site meetings with vendors; -          Accompany Property Managers to meetings with Tenants; -          Observe in Client Meetings & Conference Calls; -          Observe in Sales Meetings; -          Accompany Property Manager to Court on Litigation of Evictions; Desired Skills / Requirements: -          Must be pursuing and undergraduate degree -          Detail oriented and strong organizational skills -          Ability to effectively and proactively communicate -          Good time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities -          Ability to take direction and also work independently -          Positive attitude and strong work ethic Company Description Mid-America Real Estate Group is the Midwest’s leading retail real estate firm.
